What do you do on a lazy and gloomy Saturday afternoon? I bake!! Two apples, a sheet of puff pastry and minimal other ingredients and you instantly have a delightful dessert! Or dinner, which was almost the case here. 😉
Defrost your puff pastry (I prefer Pepperidge Farm), heat oven to 400 degrees (or per package instructions) and cut your apples into bite size chunks.
In a medium-sized saucepan, over medium heat, melt butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar and cinnamon. Add apples and cook until softened. Sorry, no measurements here. I eyed it. 🙂
Remove apples from heat and let cool slightly. Add apples to middle section of puff pastry, fold ends up and sides in. Brush with melted butter and bake @ 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes, or until golden.
Let cool.
For a decadent touch, dust with confectioners’ sugar and drizzle with caramel topping! 🙂
Delicious. If you go to my blog you can also see delicious pastries I do http://dolcealfajores.wordpress.com I hope you like this work.
